The Amenity Committee
The Planning Permission for New Ash Green was granted in the mid 1960s on the basis of the high quality of its architectural, planning and landscaping design.
The founders sought to ensure that these standards were maintained in the future. They set down an administrative structure which included the formation of an ‘Amenity Committee’, which is composed of residents who are architects and other related professionals. The Committee monitors and approves all changes and additions to building and landscape, for the purpose of ensuring continuity and harmony in design.
Members of the Committee also offer free ‘design guidance’ advice to anyone thinking of altering or extending their property at surgeries held each month.
